As part of the first
day of issue of a postage stamp 1990 with a motif by the famous French painter and friend of Bowien, André Bauchant (1873-1958), the French Post is issuing a stamped envelope with a reproduction
of a graphite drawing by Erwin Bowien from 1939 which Andre Bauchant depicts during his trip to Holland in 1939 (catalog raisonné Bowien N ° 2070). Bowien reported on this meeting in his autobiography.
